A remarkable merging of immense creativity and shrewd business sense established the filmmaking capital of the world in Hollywood, USA. From the beginning, homegrown studios, founded mostly by immigrants who came to America as children, embraced new measures of genius and influence from other lands. Men and women of disparate talents and distinct styles journeyed from around the globe to America, already fluent in the same language of cinema as industry veterans, to create and collaborate, and in many instances, just to live another day. The TCM Classic Film Festival invites you to celebrate gifted and vital artists, innovators and craftsmen who once walked through that golden door from teeming shores and advanced the art, commerce and culture of cinema with extraordinary motion pictures, many now enshrined as part of our national film heritage.
Event One
The 2024 TCM Classic Film Festival will cover a wide range of programming topics, including our central theme, Most Wanted: Crime and Justice in Film. We work directly with the Hollywood studios, the world’s notable film archives, and private collectors to program some of the most revered movies of all time alongside forgotten gems, many in stunning new restorations.
In keeping with TCM tradition, all Festival screenings include special introductions to provide context about each film. Specific details about this unique fan experience will be announced in the weeks and months ahead, including guest appearances by actors, actresses, directors, producers and other key figures.
